Analyst, Consultant, Lecturer & Podcaster
My name is David Olney. I am a Human Performance consultant, Security Analyst, University lecturer, and blind podcaster based in Adelaide, South Australia.
I have taught courses on Applied Thinking, Complex Problem Solving, Strategic Culture, International Security, and the Politics of Leadership at The University of Adelaide since 2002.
My clients for Applied Thinking and Complex Problem Solving training have included the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australian Department of Defence.
Furthermore, I have engaged audiences across the globe as a podcaster since 2016. For as long as I can remember, I have been concerned with improving the quality of communication.
I believe that effective communication is critical to individual as well as organisational success.

Sadly, this resulted in me giving up playing music in 2002. After this I still enjoyed listening to music, but put most of my energy into becoming the best university teacher I could be.
When I started teaching at university I tried to encourage my students to have a love of learning as well as empowering them to use what they had learned to improve the world.
For as long as I can remember, I have been concerned with improving the quality of communication because I believe effective communication is critical to individual as well as organisational success.
I co-host two podcasts called Blind Insights and a spinoff of this one called Blind Drunk. I also feature on another podcast called Strategikon.
For as long as I can remember, I have been concerned with improving the quality of communication. I believe that effective communication is critical to individual as well as organisational success.
